Committee

North Kew Kindergarten is owned by the Boroondara City Council but managed by a voluntary Committee of Management.  The Committee is elected each year from the parents of enrolled children. The Committee exists to ensure that our Centre provides a quality service, not only for our children, but also for those who attend in the future.  The Committee is legally responsible for running the kindergarten, employing staff, maintaining our equipment and grounds and overseeing our finances.

Specifically, the role of the Committee is to:

  • promote the Kindergarten within the community;

  • develop policies which are consistent with legislative and industrial requirements, and meet the needs of the community;

  • be responsible for the management of all aspects of the service, including the Kindergarten’s finances;

  • employ staff.

Our Committee is comprised of the following roles;

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Website Representative

  • Fundraising/Social Representative

  • Maintenance Representative

  • Grants Representative

  • General Committee Representative

Policies

Our policies instruct and  guide the day to day operation of our kindergarten.  The policies have a review cycle which ensures we keep up-to-date with changes in legislation, learning and practises.  If you would like to view any of these policies, please contact kindergarten staff and they will be more than willing to talk them through with you.
